About Us

Provo Wisdom Teeth was created to provide residents of Utah with the best option for wisdom teeth removal and to share the various options available. The truth is, many doctors without the proper training or experience continue to operate under the guise of an oral surgeon and claim they perform certain procedures. For example, a certain Provo advertisement that exists today states “General Dentistry, Oral Surgery Sedation and Orthodontics” directly below the name of the practice, but in small letters on the bottom right portion of the ad, it states, “All services performed by licensed general dentists.” The ad also shows in bold letters, “Wisdom Teeth,” “Dental Implants,” and even “Orthodontics.” If you needed braces, wouldn’t you see an orthodontist?

Provo is distinctly unique because of the large number of doctors within one location as well as surrounding areas, such as Orem. They are taking every step possible to obtain more business, which may be admirable, but when does it become unethical?

There is a large difference between a general dentist and an oral and maxillofacial (facial) surgeon. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons require additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school, which usually takes an additional four to six years. As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, doctors manage a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth, and facial regions. Oral surgeons practice the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. They can also diagnose and treat facial injuries and fractures.

It is a simple concept: Let the doctors be professionals in their respective field.

“The best and cheapest dentistry is when the right thing is done extremely well the first time and it lasts.” The same goes for our specialists here at Provo Wisdom Teeth, and we understand doing it right “the first time.”
